July 2008 NewsletterIn this issue: Artists Take Up Occupancy
After a hectic two months of building and preparation, artists will soon be able to occupy their spaces, and the production and research facilities will be put back into use. GSS would like to thank all those who have assisted in the development and build of 145 Kelvinhaugh Street for their support and hard work. Membership Options
Our Membership schemes provide access to communal production facilities and bookable project spaces alongside our dedicated social and interactive spaces with learning, research and professional development resources. Membership also provides access to our programmes of engagement and knowledge transfer such as members' newsletters, e-mail bulletins, professional development & training opportunities, artist's talks & seminars. Throughout August and September we will be holding a number of Open Days to introduce our new Membership Schemes and provide a hands-on introduction to the facilities (both Production and Research) available at GSS. The Open Days will also allow current members to familiarize themselves with our new home. Beagles & Ramsay - Production Residency
GSS would like to welcome the collaborative duo Beagles & Ramsay to the organisation in August as recipients of this residency. Beagles & Ramsay will be provided with a dedicated artist studio during this time and be provided with access to all aspects of the Artists' Facilities and Artists' Support Programmes. The residency will culminate in a solo exhibition of new work at GSS in October 2008. Beagles and Ramsay noted, 'We are looking forward to the opportunities this residency will provide and are currently developing a series of new sculptural works for the exhibition in October.'
